Jane Austen Postcards

They're finally here and all packaged up!

After a long wait and many requests for a postcard set, I've been able to add them to the shop.

As I was putting them together, I couldn't help imagining all the uses for them. Here in the UK, whenever we can, we go and stay in a National Trust Holiday Cottage. Admittedly, we haven't done it for a while, but if we were to, I think it would be nice to send out some postcard invitations to friends. That website though - you can get lost in it, so be careful! I'd love to visit quirky little places like this, or this, purely for the excellent name. The latter looks like a place I would like to write some poetry...if I could...
..and this place is here... Ahhh...

The postcards would be excellent Book Club party invitations, or for a Regency ball or dinner party, or even a wedding!

Anyway, have fun whatever you do this Summer (or Winter, depending on your hemisphere...) I hope you like them.

 Happy writing!

New Austen Prints

My mind is completely frazzled today - probably because I've been thinking too much about recent news events both here and in the States...and the world over for that matter. Maybe I should give the news channels a rest for today and just paint and think about pretty things...speaking of which...

I thought I'd make up some new prints from recent paintings! Hope you like!

New Kickstarter goal and extra goodies...

Shhhh! Lydia Bennett has something to whisper to you...

Yessss! Only £28 to go on the Jane Austen Postcards Kickstarter Project and I've decided to add some extra goodies if we can take it up to £200...

For ALL pledges £10 and over, I'll add in there a pack of the popular Jane Austen bookmarks, normally on sale over at the ETSY shop for US$9.50 (currently £6.29).

The bookmarks are each feature a different character from Miss Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' (the five sisters and Mr Darcy) and are really popular especially over the Holiday period.

So spread the word - the more we can pledge together, the more freebies, bargains and surprises I can give to you!
Thank you so much for your help!

~ Jess (& Lydia)

Jane Austen Postcards

Hello! Happy Thursday (where do the days go?!)
This is today's workspace. Four commissions for a lady, and a couple of little extras too.

 Kickstarter...

Some of you will already know about this project I've put up on Kickstarter. I'm so excited about it!

It's a new Jane Austen postcard pack, and you get to win rewards if you pledge a bit towards it (the more you plege, the more you win, as you might have guessed).
If we go over the intended target, I will be able to add extra goodies to each reward, no matter how much you have originally pledged.

The reverse will look like this:

Please come and help us out here >>> Jane Austen Postcard Pack <<<
Hope to see you there!

Festivities, please!

Today, our weather is oh-so-British:

I swam into town and back with the post for you lovelies. Really hoping your recentl christmas orders arrive in time - the best I can do is post the morning after they come through...GMT that is.

I'm loving the way th bookmarks look when they're all packaged up and ready to go, especially with the toadstool-backed free ACEOs :)

I haven't had a moment to get down to any proper Holiday decorating yet! Somehow, I feel terribly guilty, epecially with Amelia in the house! So...the rest of today will be dedicated to scrubbing and cleaning up, then we're getting the tinsel out tonight, after the school disco!
Weeheeee!

Christmas pendant necklaces

Happy Thursday to you!
Well, as you can see, I've redecorated (again) around here. The old design just looked unfinished and not very professional. this is somewhat better, methinks.
Also, there are changes afoot in the shop which you can see from the sidebar there >>
...We have NEW PENDANATS!

While threading and taking photos of them (by fairylight), I have been listening to French music. This Magritte tune is one of my favourites, with lyrics such as "cette un croissant de lune" :)

Yay! Really, I've been meaning to get around to them for ages, but other projects got in the way. Must stay focused!
There's still time to ship around the world in time for Christmas (I'd recommend you order before the end of the first week of December if you see anything you like though).
We have two circus girls (above and below)
A Mr Darcy for you die-hard Pride and Prejudice fans!

Red hair and pink ribbon wowzers - not for the feint-hearted! ...and a few more ladies too!

Hope you like them!

I have to go now because my fingers are freezing and I can't type too well anymore!

Toodlepip!

Regency portraits and something else for the walls...

Morning! I seem to have been playing catch-up (and winning!) so far today, after yesterdays' slumber and my neck refusing to cooperate with my wishes the couple of days prior to that, then before that, the internet going awol... Anyhooo...
Today, I've finished two new Sense and Sensibility paintings - this little Marianne Dashwood as a comission for a lovely lady who missed Marianne #1! Here she is:

I'll be making prints of her soonly!
There are already prints available IN THE SHOP of Marianne #1:
I try not to make them look exactly the same when I paint the same character more than once - although they do have a tendency to resemble one-another. I guess it's like movie and TV adaptations - some people prefer or have more of an affinity with one actor in comparison to another, so I suppose here it gives you a little more choice!

This is the lovely eldest Dashwood sister, Elinor (#2!)
Original Elinor Dashwood portrait - acrylic on paper (5 x 7.8")

I rather enjoyed painting her velvety charcoal dress - want one!

This is Elinor #1:

...of whom prints are already available... CLICK HERE TO SEE HER ON ETSY

There are also a few new little ACEO girls available, whom I didn't get chance to blog about yet. A couple have gone already, but do have a rifle through the 'Original ACEOs' section if you wish ;)
Oh and I haven't yet shared with you my new wallpaper design! It's taken from my little 'Alice'-inspired toadstool painting:
Thank you SPOONFLOWER!
One day soon, I'm hoping to order enough to cover at least part of a wall. I think it would look amazing in a child's bedrrom, ina  little alcove or something... If you like it, you can see it if you CLICK HERE, TO SEE MY SPOONFLOWER SHOP. SOOO excited!

Hope you're having a wonderous week!
